Project Description

Nearly every room in this family home was refreshed, with the largest transformation taking place in the primary suite. The space was reimagined as a serene, spa-like retreat with custom ceiling beams wired for pendant lighting, new stained red oak flooring, all-new furniture, textiles, and wall décor. Light wood tones, layered neutrals, and subtle color accents balance calm and warmth, creating a space that feels both refined and restorative.

Throughout the rest of the home, Emerald Bee Interiors implemented thoughtful updates to improve flow, function, and visual harmony. The entryway gained scale and elegance through an artful vignette and a new cascading light fixture. In the living room, a reconfigured layout and new sectional created more inviting seating, while a refreshed fireplace mantel and wallpapered powder room added character and depth.

The dining area was redesigned for durability and everyday elegance, featuring a new table, seating, and a striking navy bar cabinet that cleverly conceals both barware and kids’ craft supplies. An inexpensive kid craft table was replaced by a multi-functional piece that serves as both a twin Montessori stool or folds down to a table with a storage drawer, built-in bench, and extra seat—blending playtime practicality with polished design.

Upstairs, the guest room received a wallpaper accent mural with plug-in sconces for affordable luxury, while each child’s room gained a personal touch with handcrafted details. In the boy’s room, Emily Mussett personally built and wallpapered a frame to create a striking backdrop for a personalized neon sign, while in the girl’s room, she hand-painted a blush arch behind the bed for a playful yet polished focal point.

Additional updates included a custom built-in for storage at the stair landing, accented walls, and a curated family gallery display. In the upstairs game room, plans were originally made for a built-in desk and pocket door, but ultimately the budget did not accommodate these changes. Instead, the space was refreshed with new pillows, an accent rug, a functional acrylic c-table, and a larger media cabinet for balanced scale. Color and dimension were added with draperies, art, and a small focal bench anchored by hardwired sconces.

The result is a cohesive home that feels elevated yet deeply personal—designed for family living with artistry and intention.
