Project Description

This virtual design project reimagined a four-year-old boy’s bedroom into an imaginative retreat that bridges mountain adventure with a galaxy far, far away. The design retained the existing shiplap accent wall, which was refreshed in Sherwin Williams Whirlpool (SW 9135) to create a cool, atmospheric backdrop inspired by both the night sky and the great outdoors.

A new twin bed anchors the space, framed by warm wood nightstands that tie into the mountain motif of the existing bedding. Wall-mounted book ledges provide accessible storage for bedtime stories, while a durable green “camping trunk” at the foot of the bed doubles as toy and ball storage. The golden drapery adds a cozy glow and soft contrast to the blue-gray accent wall.

The standout element—the new dresser—features a carved, flowing woodgrain pattern reminiscent of both the Milky Way galaxy and a winding river, perfectly uniting the room’s earth-and-sky inspiration. With thoughtful touches like star-shaped wall hooks, a glowing moon light, and subtle Star Wars references, this design delivers a space that feels adventurous, imaginative, and ready to grow with its young explorer.
